West Central blanks Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery

ALEXANDRIA — West Central did not give up a hit and won a pair of high school baseball games over Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery on Wednesday in Alexandria.

The Trojans won 10-0 and 7-0. In Game 1, Brandon McNight recorded 15 strikeouts and had one walk for a no-hitter in seven innings pitched. For the Ducks, Craig Lasley took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on three hits with seven walks and two strikeouts in four innings pitched.

In Game 2, West Central outhit H/BE 10-0 with Miles Mutziger and Broc Haldeman combining for a no-hitter. Mutziger finished with seven strikeouts and four walks in five innings pitched, while Broc Haldeman had four strikeouts and one walk in two innings pitched.

Peyton Schroeder and Jonah Hofer pitched for the Ducks. Schroeder gave up three hits, one unearned run and had one strikeout in three innings pitched, while Jonah Hofer gave up six runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings pitched.

H/BE (1-3) plays Baltic in a doubleheader on Sunday in Alexandria.
