Northwestern takes two from Tiger baseball team
ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Northwestern swept the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team in a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader on Monday in Orange City, Iowa.
The Red Raiders won the first game 11-5 and took the second game 4-3.
In Game 1, Jonathan Shani and Landon Neugebauer each recorded two hits and and RBI for the Tigers lone hits in the game. On the mound, Gavin Reichmuth took the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) on seven hits in five innings pitched.
In Game 2, the Tigers fell behind 4-1 after two innings. DWU added two runs in the top of the fifth inning but couldn't get any more runs. Colten Boudreau went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Wes Anderson, Branden Oropeza and Neugebauer each had one hit. Dillon Stadlman took the loss, giving up four earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts in six innings pitched.
DWU (10-23, 6-14 GPAC) plays Morningside today at 3 p.m. in Mitchell.
