Area wrestling roundup: KWLPG finishes second at Big Dakota Conference tourney

FORT PIERRE—Four area teams placed in the top five at the Big Dakota Conference wrestling tournament on Saturday in Fort Pierre.

Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes and Winner placed second and third, respectively. Chamberlain and Parkston finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Chamberlain's Nash Hutmacher continued his undefeated sophomore campaign and won his title match via forfeit. Chamberlain's Max Donovan (113 pounds) and Collin Powell (120) each won individual titles.

Winner's Kaden Keiser (106), Trevor Peters (138) and Sam Kruger (145) each won titles. Parkston's Dawson Semmler (160) and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (220) won their weight classes.

Howard claims Big East Conference title

DEUEL—Howard edged McCook Central/Montrose for the Big East Conference wrestling title on Saturday. The Tigers had 180.5 points, while MCM finished with 175 points.

Howard's Lane Miller (106 pounds), Kieffer Klinkhammer (113) and Isaac Feldhaus (152) each claimed individual titles in Deuel.

MCM's Paul Lauck (145), Blake Gessner (160) and Tanner Grocott (285) won their weight classes.
