MCS girls fall to Thunder

Mitchell Christian dropped a girls basketball contest against Andes Central/Dakota Christian 47-27 on Thursday at Baas Auditorium.

The Thunder jumped ahead 11-3 after the first quarter, led 30-13 at halftime and 38-19 after the third quarter.

"They played a 1-3-1 zone defense and we weren't able to move the ball," MCS head coach Chris Nemec said. "ACDC did a nice job of clogging up the passing lanes."

Beulah Black Cloud led ACDC with 15 points, five rebounds and five steals. Mackenzie Muckey had eight points and four assists. Sidney Muckey and Brianna Deurmier also scored eight points apiece.

Anna Cooper led the Golden Eagles with 10 points and Jocelyn Baas had eight points.

"Our defense was pretty good," Nemec said. "It's been getting more and more consistent. We just have to get our offense going. We have to find ways to score."

ACDC (5-4) plays Elk Point-Jefferson on Saturday in Madison. Mitchell Christian (3-4) plays Deubrook Area on Saturday in Madison.
