The annual Mike Miller Classic prep basketball event always includes a new wrinkle and the eighth edition in 2017 will be no different.

For the first time, the event will stretch to three days this December 28, 29 and 30, as the 20-game schedule was released Tuesday.

The event will include 15 boys high school teams, four girls high school teams and four NAIA men's college basketball teams playing over three days at both the Corn Palace in Mitchell and the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. Twelve of the 20 games will be played in Mitchell.

Mitchell will again play in the Gary Munsen Tournament, facing Yankton at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Corn Palace. The Bucks are in the Mike Miller Classic for the first time, while White Station (Tenn.) and DeLaSalle (Minn.) are in the other half of the four-team bracket, which will move to the Sanford Pentagon on Dec. 30.

Mitchell Christian will play in the Classic for a fifth-straight season, taking on Prairie Seeds Academy, of suburban Minneapolis in the first game of the day at 11 a.m. Dec. 29 in Mitchell.

Defending Class B state champions Bridgewater-Emery will play in the classic for a third-straight season, taking on first-time visitor Wauwatosa West (Wis.) at 8 p.m. Dec. 28, the last of three straight games on the opening night. The Huskies will face Prior Lake at the Palace at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and will play defending Class A state champion Tea Area at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Pentagon.

Also returning to the event is La Lumiere (Ind.), which finished No. 2 in the country in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings, before winning the 2017 Dick's Sporting Goods High School Nationals championship in April. It will play Aberdeen Central for a second-straight season at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 30 in Sioux Falls.

Other participating teams include: Lower Brule, Sioux Falls Washington, Sioux Falls O'Gorman (boys and girls), DeLaSalle (girls), Sioux Falls Roosevelt (girls) and Aberdeen Central (girls).

The men's college games are back for a third straight Classic, with host Dakota Wesleyan University joined by three regional teams: Dakota State University, Peru State (Neb.) and Dordt (Iowa). The Tigers will face Peru State at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 29 and the in-state rival Trojans Dec. 30 at 8 p.m.
