Seahawks' Bennett to hold sports camp at Lower Brule
LOWER BRULE — Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett is holding a sports camp and family fitness clinic at Lower Brule High School on June 17.
The event is being held in partnership with the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free for participants and is part of Bennett's foundation's primary program, O.C.E.A.N., which stands for fighting Obesity through Community, Education, Activity and Nutrition.
The event includes a welcome and mini health expo at 10 a.m., a family health and fitness clinic at 11 a.m. and a high school fitness challenge at noon. Participants can register at Bennett's foundation's website: www.thebennettfoundation.org.
Entering his ninth season in the NFL, Bennett is a two-time Pro Bowl defensive end and has played for the Seahawks since 2013, including winning Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos in 2014.
