Parkston graduate and Augustana University senior Jordan Bormann is the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

Bormann tied for second overall at the Nebraska-Kearney Invite last weekend. She shot a 1-over-par 73 in the second round on Sunday to finish the 36-hole tournament at 4-over-par 148. Bormann fired a 3-over-par 75 on Saturday and was in fourth overall before moving two spots to finish second.

This marks Bormann's second NSIC Golfer of the Week honor this season, and the second of her career. Augustana has had a player named golfer of the week six times this season, including two straight weeks.

Augustana returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the West Texas A&M Invite in Tucson, Arizona.

Nelson battling for No. 2 spot at SDSU

Mitchell graduate and South Dakota State University redshirt freshman Kanin Nelson is among three players battling for the No. 2 quarterback spot on the Jackrabbits football team.

Nelson is going against senior Dalton Douglas and redshirt freshman Alec Comer during the spring football practice.

"Dalton has had his best spring yet," SDSU coach John Stiegelmeier told the Argus Leader. "Kanin is doing a nice job. I asked (offensive coordinator Eric Eidsness) the other day and he listed them as Taryn, Kanin, and Dalton. But again, it has to do with how much offense we can run with you."

The SDSU spring football game is set for 10 a.m. April 22 at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
