HURON -- Adaya Plastow and Lucas Moller paced the Mitchell High School cross country team on Saturday at the Huron Invitational.
The Mitchell boys placed ninth, while the girls finished in 12th place. Sioux Falls Christian won the boys team title, as it was led by the top individual finisher in Isaac Davelaar (16 minutes, 24.93 seconds). On the girls side, Sioux Falls O’Gorman’s Katie Castelli (18:50.66) guided it to a team title.
Moller finished in 38th place to lead the Kernel boys. He crossed the finish line in 18:47.47. Nate McCormick (20:16.69) took 59th and Max Hart (20:31.74) earned 65th place.
For the Kernel girls, Plastow’s time of 22:14.39 earned her 46th place. Adelyn Prunty finished just outside the top 50, as she finished in 52nd with a time of 22:41.12. Kennedy Olsen earned 63rd in 23:43.57.
Chamberlain’s Dom Santiago (17:21.95) and Declan Tveit (18:19.40) finished in eight and 25th, respectively. The Cubs also had two top-11 finishers on the girls side in Kinsey Evans (19:59.85) in ninth and Allison Hough (20:22.66) in 11th place.
