Cleanup, organization, beautification all part of service effort
Area standouts highlight the 2023 Class B girls basketball all-state first team, which was announced Thursday and was selected by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association.

It was announced at halftime of the Class B boys basketball championship game that Ethan was this year’s recipient of the “Spirit of Six” award.
Ethan closed its season at 20-6 and claimed eighth place in its first state-tournament trip since 2014.

The Rustlers will take on Wolsey-Wessington in the third-place game at 6 p.m. Saturday.

"These things don’t just happen," said Ethan superintendent Tim Hawkins. "It’s a whole effort all the way from our students, to our parents, to the community."
“It was a lot of good teamwork, good passing and communication,” said a mostly-speechless Klock. “I’m just proud of our team. We worked so hard.”
