To the Editor:
I cannot understand why there is so much opposition to masks and vaccinations. Why would you oppose something that could save your life? You say you want your freedom to choose, but freedom for what?
Getting infected and killing your family and friends? 90 percent of people dying right now are from Republican states and are unvaccinated. Why? Because twice impeached, disgraced former President Trump politicized masks and vaccinations for his selfish reasons, “Because it’s not a good look!”
His lies and misinformation have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. The count is creeping to a million lives lost just in the United States. It’s not a government conspiracy the right-wing lying machines that are Fox News, One Nation News and Epoch News keep telling you. Those people are all vaccinated or they wouldn’t have a job.
They spread their lies, conspiracy theories and propaganda for sponsorship and money. Trump loyalists are gambling with their lives by not getting vaccinated and guess what? Trump is vaccinated and boosted.

Queen Elizabeth who is 95 has Covid, but is she really sick? No. Is she even hospitalized? No. She has mild symptoms because she is vaccinated and boosted. If she was unvaccinated it would have been considered a death sentence at her age. Why is refusing to do something that could save your life and the lives of others considered to be a freedom?
It’s not, it’s a dereliction of duty to your fellow man. The Bible says treat others as you wish to be treated. Would you want an unvaccinated person to give you Covid? Please consider getting vaccinated as soon as possible.
Don’t you care how exhausted and burned out the health care workers and doctors are? If you do care about others, why not get vaccinated? Millions have safely taken the vaccine without problems. If they did get Covid it was almost guaranteed they would survive. Unvaccinated who get Covid are in for long-haul problems with the heart, lungs and blood clots even if they do survive. Why take that chance? Please get vaccinated so this pandemic can finally be over.
