To the Editor:
This country has a lot of issues to settle. Hopefully, what happened Jan. 6, when a mob of angry protestors stormed the United States Capitol, will never help again.
Why so much hatred? Wanting to do harm to the vice president of the United States, wanting to find U.S. congressmen and tie them up, tooting the Confederate flag?
Abraham Lincoln united this country in 1862, in his stance against slavery. He truly united this country. During his tenure, “In God We Trust” was inscribed on all of our currency.
Our forefathers wrote in the Constitution that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Our country, the United States of America, needs to be that shining “light” again. The need to show the whole world that we are a country united in peace, in truth, in justice, in freedom and we can attain a love for all people regardless of who they are.
