On Dec. 21, a letter appeared in this paper that was from a "Rev." that was just plain sad.

Just four days before Christmas, a "Rev." could have shared something about the Christmas story. Oh, how important and needed that is, but nothing of the Biblical story found in Matthew 1:18-25 and all of chapter 2 and basically all of the first 2 chapters of Luke.

Nothing on how scripture teaches Jesus was virgin-born, lived a sinless life on earth, and became the perfect sacrifice for us. This "Rev." could have explained the basic plan of salvation. Simply put, first admit our need (that we are sinners), then repent (actually be sorry for our sins), and also we must believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that God raised Jesus from the dead. Finally, through prayer, invite Jesus to come in and control your life through his Holy Spirit (make Jesus Lord of all your life and he will become your Savior).

The "Rev." could have talked about so much more including the love chapter , I Corinthians 13. There was no love in his message. Just more rants against a political party, and just his opinions.

I Corinthians 6:10 has a list of those that will not inherit the kingdom of God. One in the list is "revilers" which means to talk abusively against another. Another list of those that will not inherit the kingdom of God is in Galatians 5:20, which mentions "seditions", meaning, to talk against those in government. Something a true disciple of Jesus would not do.

I apologize, the "Rev." letter was a very difficult one to read and this was an extremely hard letter for me to write. However, this "Rev." has had letters on a regular basis demeaning our leaders on the state and national level for months.

Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

I will suggest reading what Matthew 7:15-23 actually says about false profits.
