To the Editor:

It is written in the Bible that if we don’t forgive those who do evil deeds against us, that God will not forgive you. I want to go to Heaven so I have to forgive my enemies. I had an ex-wife who was really evil and vindictive and I hated her for the longest time. Then I learned of the Lord and I have forgiven her. It’s like a great weight of hatred has been lifted off from me and I feel better.

One of the things I learned about the Lord is He has a way to do things that is extraordinary. He has taught us, be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

One of the wisest verses in the Bible is “Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him, if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”

There are lots of children who have been victimized and feel lots of hatred for their assaulters, however it is written in the Bible about the punishment they will receive. It is written in the Bible that those who offend one of the little ones it would be better for that person if a millstone was tied around his neck and tossed into the sea than the punishment he will receive.

Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord, I will repay. So you see it doesn’t do us any good to hold a bunch of hatred for our enemies.
