Just finished reading your editorial about umpires in amateur baseball. There are a couple of statements that are not correct. First, the umpire association does not select the umpires for the tournaments, this is done by the Legion and the SDABA for their respective tournaments. The umpire association recommends umpires from those who apply. Second, there was a new umpire in the 2015 SDABA Tournament, Dave Pursell of White Lake and if you would do some research since 1992 there has been at least one new umpire in

the SDABA Tournament.
