To the Editor:
I write today in response to a recent letter submitted by Virginia Muirhead of Chamberlain. In this letter, Ms. Muirhead claims Rep. Kristi Noem has failed to stand up for ethanol and the renewable fuels industry. That statement couldn't be further from the truth.
Since her election in 2010, Rep. Noem has been a tireless advocate for agriculture and the biofuels industry in Washington, D.C. But don't just take my word for it; her actions speak louder than my words.
Not only has Rep. Noem stood up to the Environmental Protection Agency in defense of the Renewable Fuel Standard, she's also made great strides in educating her fellow lawmakers, many from urban areas, about the importance of agriculture to our nation's security, environment and economy.
We need more advocates like her in D.C.-advocates who understand what life is like here in rural America and know how our homegrown solutions to some of our nation's biggest problems will help change the future of our nation.

Thank you, Rep. Noem for your leadership and we look forward to continue working with you in the future.
