Stanley Gregg Rohrbauck

Graveside services for Stanley Rohrbauck, 77 of Hettinger ND will be Saturday June 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Reliance Cemetery, Reliance SD.                                                       Stanley Gregg Rohrbauck died Nov. 28, 2021 at Sanford Medical Hospital, Bismarck ND from Covid with his niece Sharon Overman of Puyallup WA at his bedside.

Stanley was born in Reliance SD to Frederick and Helen (Hinzmann) Rohrbauck on April 8 1944. He was the 11th child borne into the family. The family moved to Oacoma and then to Chamberlain where Mr. Rohrbauck worked for the city of Chamberlain and Stanley attended the George Chamberlain School. Stanley quit school in his teens and worked at Al’s Oasis until he enlisted in the U.S. Army, at which time he earned his GED. Stanley served a tour in Viet Nam working in the Motor Pool repairing various  vehicles needed for combat. He received a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service.

In 1969 Stanley married Shirley Smith in Mitchell SD and worked at the Red Owl Grocery after his stint in the Army. They divorced and he moved to Kent WA where other family members had settled. He worked at Dependable Janitorial Service. He married Carole Brown in 1976 at King WA. To this union his son Timothy Vincent was borne. They divorced in 1983.

Stanley moved to Williston ND in 1988 and took a job where sandblasted storage tanks for the oil drilling companies. Living in Williston he met his long-time partner Cheryl Besiada. They retired together to Hettinger ND. Stanley was an avid American eagle collector. Photography and muscle cars were also a passion of his.

Stanley is survived by his two sons: Timothy (Amy Jo) Rohrbauck, grandson Xander; Butte Montana and Scott (Laura) Kvame, grandson Marcel Torrez, and siblings: Jerry, Bonnerdale AK; Donnie, Oacoma SD; Genevive Wooledge, Sioux Falls SD; Robert (Barb), Pittsburg PA; Cherrie (Donald) Noble, Mitchell SD and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his ex-wife Carol Rohrbauck and partner Cheryl Besiada. His parents and siblings; Dewayne, Veryl, Virgil “Dean”, Evangeline Schleuning, Rosezella DuVall, Yvonne Weatherford, LaVerta and Patricia.

A family meet and greet will take place at the Civic Center in Oacoma SD following the service. All are welcome.

Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of the burial.
