Joan Husman-Corr

Joan Husman-Corr was born August 7, 1937 to John and Mary Bourk from Blunt, SD. She attended grade school in Canning, SD and high school in Wessington Springs. There she met and married Benny Husman on July 21, 1957. They moved to Mitchell where she worked as a lab receptionist for LCM Laboratories Methodist Hospital and Queen of Peace labs.

She was an active member of her church and loved to DIY her home and entertain. Joan married Odon Corr on September 3, 2007 and lived in Wessington Springs for 10 years. She returned to Mitchell in 2017 and passed on September 27, 2019 from a short battle with cancer.

She is survived by her children; Lori (Doug) Crago, Richard (Kay) Husman, Deb (Les) Husman-Carpenter; her second husband, Odon Corr; stepchildren, Jodi (Mike) Dirksen, Nancy G. (Wayne Kolbeck) Froning, Karie (Brian Van Buren) Waters; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Benny Husman; two sisters, Rose Sevening and Daisy Seachris; one brother, Lee Bourk; step son, Gregory Corr and step great grandson Oliver Block.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Harvest Community Church of the Nazarene with burial at the American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell, SD. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Will Funeral Chapel.
