Jane Conroy

Jane was born November 11, 1939 to Wayne and Celestine (Friedrich) Usher in Mitchell, SD. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1957. Jane was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Conroy on August 10, 1959 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. While Bob was in the service, they lived in El Paso, TX for two years before moving home to Mitchell.
Jane enjoyed going to coffee with her many friends, reading, and being anywhere her husband was. She loved to travel. She and Bob took trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Florida, Phoenix, Branson, Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and a cruise to Cabo San Lucas. Jane was most passionate about her family, raising her children and supporting them in their lives. She loved spending time with all of her grand-children and great-granddaughter. She was happiest when all of her family was together at home.
Jane worked a variety of retail jobs. She especially enjoyed working temporary, seasonal jobs at Christmas to help make the holiday a little extra special for her family. She worked a variety of positions at JC Penney, K-Mart, Arby’s, and Campbell Supply.
Jane was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the American Legion. Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Beth (Carrie Tesch) Conroy, Mitchell, SD, Cathy (Craig) Fogel, Sioux Falls SD, Michael (Holly) Conroy, Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon (Sterling) Woods, Phoenix, AZ, Susan (Brian) Daughters, Mitchell, SD; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Fiance, Alexandra Densmore) Daughters, St Paul, MN, Ashley (Fiance, Mason Mayer) Daughters, Mitchell, SD, Travis Fogel, Logan Fogel, Andrew Conroy, Ryan Conroy, all of Sioux Falls, SD, Haley Woods and Lindsey Woods, both of Phoenix, AZ., great granddaughter, Ophelia Guerrero, Sioux Falls, SD, sister, Mary Usher, Chandler, AZ, brother-in-law, George (Jean) Conroy, Mitchell, SD, nephew, David (Veronica) Usher and son, Caden, San Diego, CA, as well as many, many friends, including her friend of over 75 years, Schirley Morrison and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband (2018), parents, and one infant daughter, Linda.
A private family service was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial in Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Will Funeral Chapel.
