Del was born in Worthing, SD on March 3, 1934, to Joseph and Anna (Dorweiler) Weber. The oldest of 12 children, Del grew up working on the family farm where he developed a knack for mechanics. At the age of 22, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 2 years in Germany where he received a certification in Mechanics.

At the end of his enlistment, Del returned to South Dakota to farm and start a mechanic business, “Weber Repair”. He ran Weber Repair for several years before dissolving the business to concentrate his full efforts building his family farm business. Along the way, he met the love of his life, Georgie Ann. They married in 1961, had 10 children, and spent 59 wonderful years together.

When not working, Del enjoyed Nascar and was a Minnesota Twins fan. Many Sunday afternoons were spent sitting in his favorite recliner watching races and ballgames in-between naps. He enjoyed Polka dancing and following the family band, “The Breakaways” to their weekend dances to ensure the music volume was not “Way Too Loud!”.

He was an active member of St Peter’s Catholic Church, singing in the choir and serving in various leadership roles on the Church Board. He was also active with the local Court of Catholic Order of Foresters where he held the head position “Chief Ranger” for many years.
