Cathleen Bultena

Cathleen Bultena, 57, of Mitchell, SD, died Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Firesteel Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 13, 2020 at First United Pentecostal Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Cathleen Bultena was born on March 25, 1963 to LuVerne and Donna Mae (Akason) Bultena in Sioux Falls, SD. Cathy was raised by Lucy Renner until the time of Lucy’s death in 2000. Cathy was then provided for by Lucy’s son, Ernest Renner. Cathy enjoyed a close relationship with “Momma” and “Boy,” as she called them. Ernest often took Cathy to restaurants to eat “chickie” and “fries”. Cathy was a resident of LifeQuest in Mitchell, and worked in the shop at LifeQuest.

Cathy loved dogs, and every dog no matter how big or small, was to her, a puppy. She also loved music, mostly country and some pop. Cathy brought people together. She served as a means to draw people together who otherwise would never have met. Allowing them to form bonds of positive relationships.

Cathy was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Mitchell.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Donna Mae; brothers, Greg (Reene) Akason, Keith Bultena, and Scott (Teri) Phares; and sister Glenda (Tim) Hoogland.

She is preceded in death by her father, LuVerne and grandparents, Glen and Agnes Akason.
