Bernice Sambo

Bernice Sambo, 90, of Canton, SD passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Canton, SD. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Sunset Cemetery in Mitchell, SD. Arrangements are under the direction of the Will Funeral Chapel.

Bernice (Titze) Sambo, daughter of Otto and Louise (Geidel) Titze, was born May 18, 1930 in Douglas County, SD. She moved to Mitchell at the age of 5, where she attended school and graduated from Mitchell High School.

Bernice was united in marriage with Francis Sambo on October 15, 1948. The couple farmed and raised their two sons southwest of Mitchell. After moving into Mitchell in 1984, Bernice was employed for several years at Lueken’s Bakery. After retiring she enjoyed spending time as a caregiver to others.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Allen Sambo, Sioux Falls, SD, Gary Sambo (Erwin Felix), Chicago, Il; granddaughters, Brianne (Tyrel) Bonnet, Newell, SD, Cara (Michael) Nadolski, Worthing, SD; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; and her sister, Delores Ross.
