Agnes Geppert, 94, from Alexandria, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandria, SD with burial at St. Mary of Mercy Cemetery in Alexandria. Because of Covid concerns, attendance is asked of extended family only with mask requirement and social distancing at your discretion.
Agnes Geppert was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Mitchell, SD on August 10, 1926 to Matt and Elizabeth (Koch) Schroeder. She graduated from high school in 1945. Agnes was united in marriage with William (Bill) Geppert on June 9, 1947 in Alexandria, SD.
While living near Bridgewater, she was a substitute bookkeeper for Cenex for 6 years and after moving to Alexandria was a cook in the Hanson School for 7 years.
She was a member of St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters for over 50 years. Agnes was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 30 years.
Grateful for having shared her life are her five children, Sharon (Ralph) Redenius, Sioux Falls, SD, Betty (Dennis) Pratt, Sioux City, IA, Michael Geppert, Crooks, SD, Barbara (Tom) Sperling, Canistota, Gloria (Jerry) Weber, Bedford, IA; brothers, John, Alexandria, SD, Donald, Denver, CO; twin sister, Agatha Weber, Sioux Falls, SD, sister, Mary Erpenbach, Mitchell, SD. 12 grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, and infant daughter, daughter-in-law, Cindy Geppert, son-in-law Jerry Weber, brothers, Will and Art, Sisters, Edna Weber and Frances Floweree.
In lieu of flowers, please consider masses said at your church or St. Mary of Mercy for Agnes.
