Linda Kay Sheffield Vigil made her journey to Heaven Thursday, February 7, 2019. Linda was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on July 16, 1963, to Edward and Marliss Sheffield. She attended country school in the Mitchell area and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1981. Linda received her Clinical Laboratory Tech Certificate from Mitchell Area Vo-tech. She worked as a Lab Technician and Phlebotomist for over 30 years. Linda became a very talented and respected Phlebotomist wherever she worked. She retired in 2018 due to her on-going battle with breast cancer that had metastasized to her bones. Linda was a devoted wife to her husband of 30 years Terry Vigil. Together they raised three children, Joseph Henry Vigil, Aaron Nathaniel Vigil, and Hailey Nicole Vigil Hall (Cody). Linda's family was her greatest joy and she was the center of her family. Linda lived her life for her savior Jesus Christ each and every day. She volunteered for many children's summer camps, Sunday kid's church, and numerous fundraisers. Her faith in Jesus was quietly expressed daily to all who she crossed paths with. Linda, was a passionate walker, walking up to 7 miles a day, even after working on her feet all day. Linda taught us how to live life to its fullest and how to finish strong even in the midst of a raging storm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mitchell Wesleyan Church, 601 N Sandborn Blvd, on Sunday, May 26th, from 1:00-4:00 PM. Bring a side dish to share and your fond memories of Linda.
