Craig TerMeer, Sioux Falls, SD, died April 21, 2019, following a lengthy illness. He was 56.

The TerMeer children and family will be honoring him with a visitation service Saturday April 27th from 9:00-10:00am followed by a memorial service from 10:00-11:00 am at the Ethan American Legion, 100 Main Ave.

Craig Gerald TerMeer was born July 2, 1962, in Mitchell, SD, to Shirley (Boddicker) and Gerald TerMeer. He graduated in 1980 from Ethan High School. After graduation Craig joined the US Air Force. He proudly served his country and traveled the world during his time in the military. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force Craig later joined the SD Air National Guard and continued to serve until retirement.

Craig also enjoyed his career as a correctional officer with the SD State Department of Corrections. He held several titles during his career with the department including working as a Sergeant, a disciplinary unit officer, and a health services officer. Due to his declining health Craig fully retired after working for the department for 22 years. Sociable, friendly and sometimes brutally honest, Craig was a man of a solid work ethic and was a friend you could always rely on.

Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming with his longtime friend John Stainbrook. He had a passion for old TV westerns and loved watching MASH. He was a proud father to his three children and an even prouder Pa-Pa to his grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children from his first marriage to Lynna Rae Filter: Eric (Suzy) TerMeer, Whitewood, SD, Katie (Jayme) Juhnke, Parker, SD; Adam (Kelly) TerMeer, Ethan, SD and his Grandchildren; John TerMeer, Katalyn, Kanyon, & Kimry Juhnke, and MaKenna & Marrik TerMeer. He is also survived by his wife Chris; mother, Shirley TerMeer; father Gerald TerMeer; grandmother, Katherine Boddicker; and siblings, Curt (Evelyn) TerMeer, Kim (Jesse) Spurgin, and Kevin (Lisa) TerMeer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Leo and Loraine TerMeer and LeRoy Boddicker.
