Michael Nedved, 58, Mount Vernon, SD died Monday, March 11, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, March 18 at St. John Catholic Church in Plankinton. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Sunday with a scripture service at 7:00 pm at the church in Plankinton. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Michael Anthony Nedved was born October 6, 1960 in Mitchell SD to Vernon and Pauline (Walz) Nedved. He attended Mitchell High School. On September 18, 1982 he married Diane Grohmann. They lived in Mitchell until moving to rural Mount Vernon. Mike was employed as a welder at Trail King in Mitchell for over 30 years and due to cancer he no longer could work. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, hunt and go to the Black Hills every chance he could. Recently Mike enjoyed an elk hunting trip to Idaho with his son, Jeremy and good friend, Keith. In his younger years he raced dirt bikes. He also enjoyed working in his shed, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife Diane, son Jeremy (Wendy) Nedved of Plankinton, daughter Anna (Lane) Miller of Rapid City, three grandsons: Payton, Paxton and Preston of Plankinton, three brothers: Paul of Rapid City, Kip (Nancy) of Deer Park, WA, Steve (Nancy) of Mitchell, 4 sisters: Kathy (Rich) Trent of Deer Park, WA, Connie (Peter) Dye of Emery, Jane (John) Gleich of Yankton, Carol (Dennis) Severson of Platte, one brother-in-law and two sisters in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1982 and his mother in 2018, father-in-law in 2010 and mother-in-law in 2013.
