Jerome (Jerry) Cranny

Jerome (Jerry) Cranny, 78, of Mitchell, SD died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Mitchell. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Jerome Cranny was born November 4, 1939 to Gerald and Kathryn (Wagner) Cranny in Chamberlain, SD. He graduated from Plankinton High School and entered the US Air Force, where he served from 1957-1961. On December 31, 1960 he married Linda Kay Balding. He was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1974.

He was employed at Universal Studios as a printer in California. In 1971 he returned to Mitchell, SD and was a printer for McLoed's Printing and Office Supply in Mitchell and at Avera Queen of Peace until his retirement in 2010.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, watching racing, cheering for the Vikings, and especially enjoyed his granddaughters and attending their activities.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Cranny, Mitchell; two sons Jim (Chris) Cranny, Mitchell and Jeff (Tammie) Cranny, LeSeur, MN; three granddaughters, Jordyn, Ella, and Lucy; and siblings Barb Vierceck, Larchwood, IA, Pat Cranny, Plankinton, SD, Jerry Koch, Sioux Falls, and Bernie Koch, Casper, WY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
