US Air Force Band to play free show Friday
The United States Air Force Band Offutt Brass will be performing a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Mitchell School District Performing Arts Center.
The concert, sponsored by The Daily Republic, is an entertaining and patriotic community concert titled "An American Musical Journey." It includes works by Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, John Williams, and Arthur Pryor's virtuosic trombone feature, "Theme & Variations on the Blue Bells of Scotland."
The six-member musical group from Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, is comprised
of two trumpets, horn, trombone, tuba and percussion. With a program that features a wide
musical variety of classical, jazz, popular marches, and patriotic favorites, Offutt Brass
showcases the Air Force's excellence, precision and innovation in every performance.
These musicians represent the more than 660,000 Air Force professionals around the world who protect and defend the freedoms we cherish.
General admission seating begins at 6 p.m. for ticket holders. All unclaimed seats will be available to non-ticket holders at 6:45 p.m.

The Mitchell School District Performing Arts Center is at 821 N. Capital St. in Mitchell.
The band will also be performing other South Dakota shows in Ipswich, Watertown and Mobridge.
