LETTER: World's population growth doesn't get attention
To the Editor:
The anniversary of the Parkland, Florida, school massacre is Feb. 14. Seventeen people
were killed. But, fortunately, there'll be no shortage as the world population is growing at a
rate of a billion people every 13 years. That means, in the last year, 76 million more
have been added to the world.
Do you remember when President Obama was sworn in? Do you realize, since then, the
United States has grown by 30 million people?
Too bad the talking heads ignore these facts when they're blabbering about, say, the economy, environment, job creation, global warming, immigration, border walls, abortion, crime, wildlife, the "Great Pacific garbage patch"... oh, just about everything.
