South Dakota COVID-19 deaths reach 425

PIERRE — Deaths from COVID-19 in South Dakota reached 202 for the month of October and 425 overall since the beginning of the outbreak; another 10 deaths were reported Saturday, Oct. 31, according to statistics from the South Dakota Department of Health.

The department recorded a total of 14,373 active cases of the disease, which is up from 13,520 from the previous day. The number of patients currently hospitalized with the disease is at 415, which is also up from 403 the previous day.

The state’s total COVID-19 case count since the beginning of the outbreak sits at 45,992, which is an increase from 44,559 the previous day. Of those positive cases, 31,194 patients have recovered after being infected.
