Xcel Energy says outages in SD down to 14,000

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- Xcel Energy says crews have restored electricity to nearly 77,000 people in the wake of this week's ice and snow storm in eastern South Dakota and southwestern Minnesota. But about 14,200 customers remain in the dark.

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- Xcel Energy says crews have restored electricity to nearly 77,000 people in the wake of this week's ice and snow storm in eastern South Dakota and southwestern Minnesota. But about 14,200 customers remain in the dark.

Another 1,900 homes and businesses served by rural electric cooperatives in the region also remain without power.
