WOONSOCKET - A Woonsocket man pleaded not guilty to rape involving an intoxicated woman.
Stephen Simon, 29, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to third-degree rape, in which he is charged with having sex with a woman who was intoxicated and incapable of consenting, court documents state.
The alleged incident occurred on April 9 in Sanborn County, after which Simon was arrested, but no other information was provided in court documents.
Third-degree rape is a Class 2 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 25 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. No more court dates have been scheduled in court documents.
