A Mitchell woman was arrested Sunday for DUI after allegedly crashing into a street sign in Mitchell and walking away from the scene.
Tina Hauge, 38, struck a speed limit sign around 1:12 p.m. Sunday in a blue 1994 Honda Accord at the 1000 block of South Rowley Street, and a third party reported the incident to police, according to Mitchell police.
The reporting party followed Hauge, who allegedly exited the vehicle and walked to a residence "relatively close to the scene," authorities said.
Police arrived at the residence shortly after and arrested Hauge for DUI and hit-and-run causing property damage.
Damage to the sign is estimated at $400.
