RAVINIA-A Ravinia woman was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after being shot in the abdomen with a gun Tuesday morning.
Karissa Vasek, 25, was taken to the Wagner Community Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 9:12 a.m., according to the Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office. Vasek was later airlifted to Sioux Falls.
The incident happened at 304 Elm St., in Ravinia, which is the residence of Vasek and Jesse Rivas, 26. The shooting was reported as accidental, but is being investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office to rule out criminal activity.
No other information was immediately available.
