Wilma Nadine Slusser, 85, Spanaway, Wash., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in Tacoma, Wash.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mount View Memorial Park. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Tacoma. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Funeral Home, Tacoma.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1923, in Mitchell to Gertrude and William Witte.

She was raised and attended schools in South Dakota.

She has lived in Tacoma since 1945.

On April 27, 1968, she married LeRoy Slusser.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Priscilla Circle, Maude Piper Orthopedic Guild and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 228.

She is survived by a son, Monte L. Benn; a daughter, Phyllis S. LeCompte, both of Tacoma; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters: Darleen Schertzer, Tacoma; and Alva Bullis, Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip M. Benn; her second husband, LeRoy; a son, Jack Dethlefsen; her parents and three sisters.

Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home of the West (send in care of the church) or the Maude Piper Orthopedic Guild.
