Mitchell's wet weekend brought nearly an inch of rain from Friday to Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, Mitchell received 0.08 inches Friday, 0.38 inches Saturday and 0.46 inches Sunday. As of 3 p.m. Monday, Mitchell had received between 0.25 and 0.5 inches for the day.
Areas of Charles Mix County took some of the hardest rainfall by 6 p.m. Sunday. According to the NWS, Platte received 1.43 inches over the three-day rainfall and Lake Andes saw a total rainfall of 1.38 inches.
Unlike those in Charles Mix County, Mount Vernon received a fraction of the rain accumulated by its neighbors with only 0.32 inches from Friday to Sunday evening.
With the weekend rainfall, Mitchell sits at the "wet" rating on the National Integrated Drought Information System's drought monitor, which is the lowest of six ratings.
