REE HEIGHTS - A 16-year-old Wessington Springs male was killed Friday in a one-vehicle crash south of Ree Heights.
Tucker Easton was traveling northbound on 349th Avenue around 4:09 p.m. Friday in a 1994 Mazda B400 pickup when he failed to negotiate a curve after coming over a hill, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. The vehicle went into the west ditch and rolled, ejecting Easton, who was not wearing a seat belt.
Easton was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other responding agencies were the Hand County Sheriff's Office, Hand County Emergency Management and Hand County Ambulance.
