Wayne B. "Scott" Hannah, 86, De Smet, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at De Smet Memorial Hospital, De Smet.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ, De Smet, with the Rev. James Truesdell officiating. Burial will be in De Smet Cemetery, De Smet. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Osthus Funeral Home, De Smet.
He was born on March 5, 1922, at Manchester to Chauncey and Emma (Wurl) Hannah.
He grew up on a farm southwest of De Smet and attended Widman School District No. 23.
He attended De Smet High School and graduated in 1940, when he returned to the family farm.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943 and reached the rank of staff sergeant.
He served in World War II and was called back to duty during the Korean War and was discharged in 1952. He was decorated many times.
He returned home to farm and raise livestock following his discharge.
On Dec. 6, 1963, he married Lorraine Smith.
They lived in De Smet.
His wife died in 1997 and he remained in his home until recently, when he entered the Good Samaritan Center, De Smet.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandy Page and husband Randy, De Smet; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers and seven sisters.
