On Dec. 14, the South Central Alcohol Task Force conducted 16 alcohol compliance checks in the city of Mitchell.
There were two failures as the result of the checks and they occurred at Casey's General Store at 100 S. Main and Westside Sinclair.
In the Casey's General Store incident the clerk asked to see the confidential informant's identification, but still sold alcohol to the confidential informant. In the Westside Sinclair incident the clerk did not ask to see the confidential informant's identification but the clerk still sold alcohol to the confidential informant.
This is both Casey's General Store's and Westside Sinclair's first failure within a 24-month period.
The following establishments were checked and passed: The Depot, American Legion, Big Dummies, VFW Post 2750, Moonlight Bar, Scoreboard Pub and Grill, Overtimes Steakhouse and Sports Bark, One Eyed Jack's Casino, EZ$ Pub, Village Bowl/Spare Change Casino, Moose Lodge, Platinum Player's Club, Shay's and Blarney's Sport Bar.
