Two-day alcohol task force sting nets two failures

On Dec. 15 and 16, the South Central Alcohol Task Force conducted a total of 29 alcohol compliance checks in Mitchell.

On Dec. 15 these businesses passed: The Depot, Casey's General Store on South Main, American Legion, Big Dummies, Moonlight Bar, Scoreboard Pub and Grill, Overtime Steakhouse and Lounge, One-eyed Jack's Casino, EZ$ PUb, Village Bowl/Sneakers Peanut Bar, Moose Lodge, Platinum Player's Club, Shay's and Blarney's Sport Bar.

The lone failure on this date was the VFW Post 2750. In this instance the clerk did not ask to see the confidential informant's identification, but still made the sale to the confidential informant. This is the VFW Post 2750's first failure in a 24-month period.

On Dec. 16 passing the check were these businesses: Longhorn Bar, Cafe Teresa, Coborn's Easy Come Easy Go, Phoenix and Dragon Chinese Restaurant, Sudz, Twin Dragon Chinese Restaurant, Ruby Tuesday, Whisky Creek, Cattleman's Steakhouse, All-Star Sports BAr, Chef Louie's and Dr. Lucky's.

A single failure occurred at Casey's General Store at 701 N. Main. In this instance the clerk did not check the Confidential Informant's identification and made the sale of alcohol to the Confidential Informant. This is Casey's General Store's first failure within a 24-month period.
