Two people were arrested Thursday following a search warrant near a Mitchell park.
Trevor Kohlrus, 25, and Brandi Anderson, 19, both of Mitchell, were arrested on multiple charges following a search of 514 E. Second Ave., No. 2, in Mitchell, which is located fewer than 1,000 feet from Doty Park, a public playground. The Mitchell Department of Public Safety announced the arrests Friday afternoon.
Kohlrus was arrested for possession of more than 1 ounce but less than a half-pound of marijuana with intent to distribute; two counts of unauthorized possession of a controlled substance; violation of a drug-free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anderson was arrested for unauthorized possession of a controlled substance; possession of more than two ounces but less than a half-pound of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Davison County Sheriff's Office and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation assisted with the investigation, which is ongoing. Additional charges are expected.
