Two arrested after drugs found in Alpena home

ALPENA -- An Alpena couple face multiple drug charges after numerous law enforcement agencies took part in a search of their home last week.

Tyler Bartunek, 29, and Cindy Bartunek, 36, are each charged with multiple felonies, including manufacturing and possessing controlled substances, violating a drug-free zone and keeping a place for the use or sale of controlled substances. They are also charged with multiple misdemeanors, including possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and five counts of causing a child to be present where any person is using, distributing or manufacturing methamphetamine.

There was allegedly meth, hash oil and marijuana found in the couple's home at 508 Fourth St., according to a press release from the Attorney General's Office. There seven children living in the home, said to Sara Rabern, spokeswoman for the state Attorney General's Office.

The agencies that assisted in the search were the Jerauld County Sheriff's Office, Sanborn County Sheriff's Office, Alpena Fire Department, James Valley Drug Task Force, Pierre Police Department and the state Division of Criminal Investigation.

Jerauld County Sheriff Jason Weber declined to any additional comment on the case Monday.
