A Mitchell man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly wiping his blood on a woman during an argument at a residence at 318 N. Minnesota St.
John Eddie Funderburg, 49, is charged with intentional contact with a bodily fluid, a misdemeanor with a maximum punishment of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
According to Mitchell Police Detective Lt. Don Everson, Funderburg was arrested after the Mitchell Police Division received a report from Funderburg's daughter -- who was not present at the residence, but did receive a phone call from the victim -- that he threatened the victim with a gun.
Funderburg apparently made a comment about shooting a dog, Everson said, which was misinterpreted as a threat on the victim by Funderburg's daughter.
Officers secured the residence and blocked off nearby roads before making contact with the people at the residence, Everson said, and after an investigation, Funderburg was arrested.
