ABERDEEN (AP) - The trial for an Aberdeen man accused of stabbing a woman to death will be held in Pierre.

Thirty-four-year-old John Hemminger is charged with murder in the death of 26-year-old Jessica Goebel, who died after being stabbed in January 2015.

He was to stand trial in Aberdeen this month, but Judge Scott Myren in late April granted a change-of-venue motion from defense attorneys who worried about the ability to seat an unbiased jury in Brown County.

The American News reports that the trial is now scheduled from Aug. 22 to Sept. 7 in Pierre, with Hughes County residents serving on the jury. Any hearings leading up to the trial will still be held in Brown County.
