Traffic on State Highway 37 north of Mitchell from National Guard Road to one-quarter mile south of the Davison-Sanborn County line will be re-routed to the southbound lanes today, July 18, so work can begin on the northbound lanes. The southbound lanes were completed on Tuesday, July 17.
Two-way traffic will be maintained in the southbound lanes with a reduced speed limit of 55 mph and a 12-foot width restriction.
The work being completed includes construction of median crossovers, concrete pavement overlay, bridge deck overlay, bridge approach replacement and asphalt shoulder resurfacing.
The anticipated completion of the project is Sept. 1, 2018. PCiRoads of St. Michael, Minnesota, is the prime contractor on the $8.8 million project.
