BRULE COUNTY - Three people were charged with felonies after being found with marijuana and hydrocodone during a traffic stop in Brule County.

A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper conducted a traffic stop on Feb. 6 and could smell burnt marijuana, according to court documents. The officer searched the vehicle and found two baggies of raw marijuana, two pairs of scissors with marijuana residue on the blades, a hydrocodone pill for which none of the vehicle's three occupants had a prescription and three unopened Bud Light cans.

All three of the vehicle's occupants - 18-year-old Seanda Sazue, of Fort Thompson, 25-year-old Micah Brown, of Chamberlain, and 25-year-old Gino Ross, of Fort Thompson - were arrested and charged with the Class 5 felony of possession of a controlled substance, punishable upon conviction by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
