IONA -- A Houston, Texas, man was identified as the person who died in a one-vehicle crash early Monday morning south of Iona.

The Department of Public Safety said Friday that 34-year-old Michelet Joseph was driving a 2006 Hino FB commericial truck north on South Dakota Highway 47 at 3:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, lost control of the truck, crossed into the southbound lane, and went into the west ditch, where the truck rolled onto its top.

Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred a half mile south of Iona. He was wearing a seat belt. No one else was in the truck with Joseph, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
