CORSICA - A 16-year-old male has been arrested for aggravated assault and resisting arrest for allegedly firing several shots with a rifle following an argument with his father.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the teen got angry following the argument and took a rifle outside and shot a rifle several times toward some trees. The teen's name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 9 about 2 miles north of Corsica.
Douglas County Sheriff Jon Coler said no one was in harm's way, and he did not believe the teen was trying to intentionally shoot at anyone.
After shooting the rifle, the teen walked into an area with trees, but eventually came out when authorities arrived. When a deputy attempted to detain him, he allegedly resisted, but was later placed under arrest.
