TABOR - An area man was arrested and charged with raping a girl multiple times over a span of five years.
Paul Brewer, 40, of Tabor, was arrested May 13 and charged with first-degree rape of a child younger than 13 years old.
According to court documents, the girl told law enforcement on May 11 she has been raped by Brewer for the past five years.
The girl met with Child's Voice, a child advocacy center in Sioux Falls, on May 12. Law enforcement collected washcloths and paper towels from Brewer's residence and interviewed him the next day, court documents state. Brewer was arrested after the interview, and Bond was set at $5,000.
Brewer is charged with first-degree rape of a person younger than 13 years old, a class C felony, punishable upon conviction by up to life in prison and a $50,000 fine; and sexual exploitation of a minor, a class 6 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.

Brewer is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Tuesday.
