SIOUX FALLS — Three people were taken into police custody Sunday night after a man allegedly fired a gun at another person in Sioux Falls.

At 9:24 p.m., police were called to the Red Rock Inn and determined a man fired the gun at another man and his dog before running into a hotel room. Police have not reported that anyone was injured during the incident.

Surrounding rooms were reportedly evacuated, and three people came out of the room the man had run into. Of those, a man and woman were arrested.

SWAT was called to the hotel, where the man eventually surrendered and was taken into custody for aggravated assault and multiple charges of drug and weapon offenses.

Police reported Monday morning there is no current risk to the public, though investigation is ongoing.
