Sports: Nelson, Wesleyan place first at Open

Dakota Wesleyan University's Rocky Nelson shot a 74 to place first, along with his team, in the Jamestown College Jimmie Open at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Jamestown, N.D.

Wesleyan shot a team score of 311 to top Jamestown for the title.

Tom Hoek placed second as he shot a 76 and Brett Abbotts shot an 80 to tie for eighth place for the Tigers.

Nick Gates shot an 81 to tie for 11th place for DWU, while Clint Farrar shot an 83 to tie for 19th place.

Wesleyan will take part in the Buena Vista Invite Wednesday.
